About Us

We are a trusted and reliable member-owned network of independent building materials distributors serving the United States and Canada. Independent Distributor Alliance Corporation (IDAC), with our highly respected contractor relationships, deep inventories, strategic distribution systems, and local market knowledge, consistently delivers true value.

History

IDAC’s roots run deep. In 2022, two industry leaders, American Wholesale and Building Suppliers Corporation, LLC, recognizing their shared commitment to best business practices, supplier relationships, community focus, and more, came together to form Independent Distributor Alliance Corporation. Combined, the two organizations have brought more than 70 years of experience, stability, and strength to IDAC.

Yesterday, today, and tomorrow, IDAC thrives on a culture of continuous improvement to our trusted suppliers, our distributor shareholders, and their contractor customers. We partner with the leading manufacturers in the world. With a high-end product emphasis, we act as an extension of our supplier’s brand and marketing strategy to the residential and commercial markets.

From the beginning, our primary goals have included providing effective education for all employees, sharing best practices designed to improve operations, and effectively supporting suppliers to the building material industry.

Our members continue to be leaders in their industry. They offer a wide range of product offerings, including:

  • Residential Roofing
  • Commercial Roofing
  • Vinyl Siding
  • Cement Siding
  • Insulation
  • Decking
  • Windows
  • Doors
  • Millwork
  • Accessories

Our Focus

We are committed to enhancing our position as the leading roofing and building materials distribution network in the U.S. and Canada. IDAC’s stability and success come from our strength of leadership, wealth of industry experience, and strong business acumen in addition to our sense of community and joint purpose through shared best business.

“It has helped me grow personally. Not to be dramatic, but I don’t know if, without their help, we would be able to grow at the rate we have over the last few years. We would be a three-store operation rather than a nine-store operation.”
